Immigration New Zealand is looking to centralise all visa lodgement services, within New Zealand. Visa applications will shortly all be directed to Auckland's National Documentation Office (NaDO).
NaDO will receive and lodge all paper and online applications that are received from applicants residing in New Zealand. If the mandatory lodgement requirements have been met, the applications will then be distributed to the appropriate processing office. This will remove some of the administrative work from the processing branches, and allow them to focus on the assessment of visa applications.
This transition will be implemented in phases.
14 January - Paper applications from the Wellington and Palmerston North regions (excluding student applications) directed to NaDO.
4 February - Paper and online student applications from applicants in New Zealand directed to NaDO.
3 June - Paper applications from the South Island (excluding student applications) directed to NaDO.
There is no change for student visa applications submitted through Provider Direct
Applications under the Investor, Parent Retirement, Entrepreneur and Recognised Seasonal Employment categories should still be sent.to Visa Services Porirua
Employer Accreditation and Approved in Principle categories should still be sent to Visa Services Christchurch.
There will be little impact for online application submissions, but all paper-based applications must be directed to the below address, in line with the above listed transition dates.
