The minimum income requirements for certain visa categories are set to increase, on 24 February 2020.

The minimum income requirements for certain visa categories are set to increase, on 24 February 2020.

Why the change?

Immigration New Zealand adjusts minimum income requirements annually.  The updates are based on the New Zealand median salary, which has risen 2% from last year. 

What are the changes?

Increases will be made across the skilled migrant residence and essential skills work visa categories.  The changes have been summarised below.

Our advice

Employers may need to increase impacted employee's salaries, if they are submitting work or residence visa applications, after 24 February 2020.
