Litigation - Associate
Since being admitted in 2011, Holly has gained fantastic practical experience working in the insolvency and turnaround space. Holly has worked on assignments for most of the major banks in New Zealand, across a range of industries including construction, agriculture, commercial property and manufacturing. She has also worked on a number of high profile receivership insurance claims, as a result of the Canterbury earthquakes and subsequent litigation work through proceedings being issued by or against the Receivers/Liquidators.
Holly enjoys the fast paced nature of her role and likes to get the best for clients in difficult situations. Her varied networking, presentation and client relationship management experience makes her an asset to the wider Cavell Leitch team.
An active board member of Swimming Canterbury West Coast, Holly is able to use her professional experience to contribute and advise this group in a sport she is passionate about, while developing governance skills a wider interest in sports law.
Advising receivers on PPSR priority disputes and other issues in formal insolvencies;
Acting for an Australian listed company for its New Zealand debt recovery;
Acting for home owners in relation to earthquake insurance claims including High Court proceedings and negotiating settlements;
Assisting a range of landlords, trading entities and other creditors in relation to debt recovery action including liquidation, bankruptcy and summary judgment High Court proceedings.
