Career History

Prior to joining Cavell Leitch Law, Michael was employed:
  • as a solicitor at Phillips Nicholson (now Phillips Fox, Wellington),
  • as a solicitor in the banking department of Clifford Chance in London where he specialized in syndicated and bilateral corporate lending, asset finance and corporate debt restructuring,
  • as general counsel of private equity company, Klesch & Company Ltd which specialized in distressed debt and securities trading and the acquisition and turnaround of financially troubled companies; and
  • as a director in the banking and projects group KPMG Legal, London where he specialized in asset, property and leveraged finance
