  • Receive instructions directly from clients, partners, or more senior members of the team on all aspects of legal work in the area of immigration.
  • Act on behalf of clients in dealing with Immigration New Zealand.
  • Meet and interview clients to establish the firm's suitability to provide the necessary advice and services, based on the firm’s specialist legal disciplines and likely cost.
  • Ensure clients’ needs are fully identified and appropriate and cost-effective advice and solutions are given.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain completeness of file contents so that the file fully and accurately reflects the status of work completed.
  • Actively identify and leverage opportunities to grow the firm’s client base in line with the firm’s strategic direction.

We are looking for someone who is well-organised, time-efficient, process driven and able to work independently and as part of a close team. You will be a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, managing priorities and deadlines effortlessly. You are comfortable with and have an empathetic approach to dealing with a wide range of clients. Your reliability and initiative will be valued and your attention to detail will be appreciated.

The expectation is that you will genuinely care about our (your) clients and be there to make a difference in their lives. We care about your development, and we are committed to creating a supportive work/life experience that suits all our people. We offer a variety of rewards in terms of service, leave and remuneration. Health and wellbeing are prioritised in several ways to suit people’s particular preferences, needs and abilities. At Cavell Leitch you will have the opportunity to join our connected culture, build a long-term career and grow your expertise. We offer very competitive salary/benefits packages with a strong social scene and wider community engagement/involvement.

We think we’re a bit different from other law firms. We believe that if you’re spending a large part of your life working, it should be with an award-winning law firm committed to growth in a vibrant and rewarding culture. If your values align with ours, we would love to hear from you.
