Lucy is a legal assistant in the Business Team and has worked in law since 2002.

 

I have a degree in Speech & Language Therapy but after graduating, decided it wasn’t the career for me. After a couple of years of working in London, I went travelling and fell in love with New Zealand. I ended up back in London for a few years working as a legal secretary for a mid-sized firm in the property team handling residential and commercial property matters.

 

I moved to New Zealand in 2008 and starting working at Cavell (as Clare O’Neill’s PA) mainly assisting with residential conveyancing, commercial property and some trust work.  In 2012, my family and I left Christchurch for Auckland then Queenstown before returning 5 years later. I have been back at Cavell since 2018.

 

I now work part time alongside Stacey Williams (no relation!) in the Business Team looking after retirement village matters. I enjoy the variety of work generated by our village clients and building on the established relationships we have with the villages.

 

I am now a fully-fledged kiwi having become a New Zealand citizen a few years ago. I am married to Dave and have two sons. As a working mum, I am appreciative of Cavell’s flexible working policy so the demands of work and family life can be balanced.
